Kasja Jerlagić was born in Sarajevo, 22nd of May 1996, where she studied printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts, and where she continues to live and work.
Between 2015 and 2018 she worked at several Sarajevo galleries: 11/07/95, Duplex 100m2, and Charlama Depot. From 2018 to 2022 she ran the artist-activist collective ODRON, organizing events at the interesection or art, culture and politics, all in the goal of supporting the local and regional alternative art scene, incentivizing youth to get involved in political processes, and developing critical thinking skills.

In order to keep her sanity intact and her hands occupied during the pandemic, she started working with textiles, exploring various techniques - including embroidery on used fabric, weaving tapestries on a home-made loom, and making punch-needle rugs of various sizes. Simultaneously she started learning web development, launched her personal website and is now occupying the unlikely space between art, technology and handicraft.

Since 2023 she’s been collaborating with the Foundation Atelier for Community Transformation - ACT, on cultural projects, public activism and raising awareness of ecological issues.

Her paintings are part of the travelling collection “Sarajevo Storage” of Pierre Courtin and the private collection of Irfan Hošić. She’s done illustrations for the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, Civil Rights Defenders, as well as the publication “The Lost Revolution - The Women’s Antifascist Front between Myth and Forgetting“, published by Association for Culture and Art CRVENA. Her textile works are available at the concept store Bazerdžan, or can be ordered directly.
