TURBO BITCH
2020
Digital illustration that plays with traditional gender roles, folklore, punk and pop art aesthetics. The garments are based on traditions of the peoples of Posavina, and even though it portrays a male costume, the figure is androgynous - this, coupled with contemporary vernacular bedazzled on the jelek (vest), blurs the lines between the colorful past, confusing present, and unknown future. To paraphrase the late Mark Fisher, this new future may yet emerge from the ideological rubble of today, and it will not necessarily be tied to the old language or traditions.
