First illustration in a loose series of postmodern propaganda posters. Three women dressed in traditional Balkan folk clothing hold hands while the phrase “Together we got into this (mess), together we’ll get out of it“ is written around them.
The illustration is rendered in a style reminiscent of Ars Nouveau and socrealist propaganda, and refers to the complex socioeconomical situation facing countries in the Balkans in the postcommunist, post-Yugoslav era.

In increasingly precarious times, people are in need of a new vision of a better future, and it is our duty as artists to attempt to create this vision, which is to say convey messages of hope and solidarity, synthesized from old and new cultural symbols.

The illustration was featured in the exhibition of posters “Facing History“ in Novi Hram, Sarajevo, 2019.
